Lexus ES VIII (XZ20) gallery (2025–present)
The eighth-generation Lexus ES (XZ20) debuted in Shanghai in April 2025 on a platform built for both hybrid and electric power: a larger body, no more V6, the ES 350h hybrid and the fully electric ES 350e and ES 500e.
The eighth-generation Lexus ES sedan (chassis code XZ20) made its world premiere at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition on April 23, 2025. It rides on a redesigned TNGA GA-K platform developed specifically to accommodate both hybrid and battery-electric powertrains, and follows the design language of the LF-ZC concept. The body grew by roughly 6.5 inches in length and 3 inches in wheelbase, bringing rear-seat space close to the flagship LS. The ES name itself was reinterpreted as Experience Elegance and Electrified Sedan.
For the first time the line-up drops the V6: the ES 350h hybrid uses a sixth-generation 2.5-liter hybrid system, while the ES 350e (front-wheel drive, around 300 miles of estimated range) and the ES 500e (DIRECT4 all-wheel drive, around 250 miles) are fully electric. Both front- and all-wheel-drive versions are offered. The cabin features a 12.3-inch driver display in the tazuna layout, a 14-inch touchscreen running the new Lexus Interface multimedia system, Mark Levinson audio, an Executive Package with reclining rear seats, and Lexus Safety System+ 4.0. Sales begin in a phased rollout from 2026.
