Isuzu Elf III gallery (1975–1984)

The third generation of the popular Japanese truck Isuzu Elf was produced from 1975 to 1984 and became widely known under the nickname Tora-san.

The third-generation Isuzu Elf was built on a proven ladder-frame platform featuring improved load capacity and enhanced ergonomics. The vehicle was offered as a chassis cab, dropside truck, van, and specialized body variants with various wheelbase lengths. The engine lineup included reliable diesel powerplants ranging from 2.4 to 3.3 liters, as well as gasoline options, mated to manual transmissions. Compared to the second generation, this model introduced a more comfortable cabin, improved forward visibility, and an upgraded braking system. Throughout its production run, it underwent facelifts in 1978 and 1981, which refreshed the front grille, lighting elements, and interior trim. The primary target markets were Asian countries, led by Japan, alongside growing export volumes to Oceania and select international regions.
