About this generation
The fifth-generation Hyundai Avante (MD) ran from 2010 to 2015 featuring dramatic Fluidic Sculpture design and GDI engines.
The fifth-generation Hyundai Avante (MD platform) premiered in April 2010 featuring Fluidic Sculpture styling and a low 0.28 drag coefficient. In South Korea, it introduced a 1.6-liter Gamma GDI direct-injection engine (140 hp) paired with a 6-speed automatic.
A 2013 facelift added projector LED headlamps and upgraded interior cabin noise isolation.

Astana Motors and Hyundai Motor Company have signed an agreement to localize production of the fifth-generation Hyundai Tucson at the plant in Almaty. Complete knockdown assembly including welding and body painting is scheduled to start in December 2027.
