The seventh and final generation of the Australian Ford Falcon (FG and facelifted FG X series) was manufactured at Broadmeadows from 2008 until October 2016. Built on the evolved E8 architecture, it was produced as a 4-door sedan and Falcon Ute. The 'FG' moniker honored the historic Fairmont Ghia nameplate.

Powertrain choices included the legendary 4.0L Barra inline-six (261 hp naturally aspirated, up to 435 hp in XR6 Sprint turbo trim), a 2.0L EcoBoost, EcoLPi liquid-injection LPG, and a supercharged 5.0L Boss V8 powering the XR8. On October 7, 2016, the final Falcon rolled off the line, ending 56 years of continuous Australian vehicle production.
