Buick Roadmaster VIII (B-body) gallery (1991–1996)

After a 33-year hiatus, Buick revived the historic Roadmaster nameplate for the 1991 model year on the rear-wheel-drive, body-on-frame GM B-body platform. The revival began with the 1991 Roadmaster Estate Wagon, featuring a fixed second-row Vista Roof glass panel and classic simulated woodgrain exterior trim, followed by a full-size four-door sedan for 1992. Powertrain offerings evolved from a 5.0-liter V8 (L03) to a 5.7-liter V8 (L05), culminating in 1994 with the adoption of the high-output 5.7-liter LT1 V8 derived from the Chevrolet Corvette, producing 260 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. Power was routed via a four-speed 4L60-E electronically controlled automatic transmission. The car offered immense interior volume, six-passenger seating, standard DynaRide suspension, and a towing capacity of up to 5,000 pounds with the towing package. Produced in Arlington, Texas, sales spanned North America and the Middle East until assembly ended in late 1996 as GM shifted focus to full-size SUVs.
