About the model

The first-generation BMW X6, designated E71 and E72 for the hybrid version, debuted in 2008 and established the crossover coupe niche using the contemporary X5 platform. It featured a distinctive sloping roofline, xDrive all-wheel drive with dynamic performance control, and a range of turbocharged inline-six and V8 engines paired with automatic transmissions. A mid-cycle refresh updated the front lighting and exterior trim.

The second generation, coded F16, arrived in 2014 with sharper body contours and reduced weight. Powertrains were revised for improved efficiency, working exclusively with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Inside, the cabin received updated infotainment screens, higher-grade materials, and advanced driver assistance systems.

The third generation G06 entered production in 2019 on the modular CLAR architecture. It introduced an illuminated kidney grille, optional air suspension, and mild-hybrid technology for the engine lineup. A subsequent facelift brought revised front styling and a curved digital display integration.
