About this generation

A return to statuesque elegance and relaxed luxury, introducing rear-wheel steering and twin-turbo V8 and V12 power.

Launching in 2008, the F01 brought a commanding presence back to the 7 Series with prominent vertical kidney grilles, longer wheelbase stance, and subtle body sculpting. The cabin prioritized serene travel, offering multi-contour massaging seats, ceramic interior controls, and ambient night vision assistance.

Under the hood, twin-turbocharged engines became the norm, complemented by the debut of Integral Active Steering and the eco-focused ActiveHybrid 7. The F01 seamlessly balanced high-speed highway composure with effortless city maneuvering, restoring traditional elegance to BMW's top-tier sedan.
