Unveiled in 2001, the E65 (and long-wheelbase E66) shocked traditionalists with its bold trunklid design, high beltline, and radical dash layout. Love it or hate it, it broke away from past design conventions and forced the entire luxury car industry into the modern digital age.

It introduced the rotary iDrive interface, electronic column shifter, dynamic drive active anti-roll bars, and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Packed with V8 and V12 engines featuring Valvetronic variable valve lift, the E65 was a tour de force of tech that matured into a defining 2000s icon.
