Bentley T-Series II gallery (1977–1980)
The second generation Bentley T-Series brought rack-and-pinion steering and impact-absorbing bumpers in 1977.
Debuting in the spring of 1977, the Bentley T2 was a comprehensive mid-lifecycle evolution of the original T-Series saloon. Key exterior modifications included black impact-absorbing rubber bumpers designed to meet global safety mandates, a discreet front air dam, and a subtly revised radiator shell. Under the skin, the T2 gained a modern rack-and-pinion power steering assembly that significantly sharpened road manners, along with refined front suspension geometry and revised rear self-levelling hydraulics. Power was supplied by the proven 6.75-litre L-Series V8 mated to a General Motors three-speed automatic transmission. Inside, occupant comfort was elevated via a split-level automatic climate control system and a modernized instrument panel. Produced in very exclusive numbers compared to its Rolls-Royce sibling, the T2 concluded its production run in 1980 to make way for the all-new Bentley Mulsanne.
