Introduced in late 1962, the Bentley S3 represented the pinnacle and final chapter of the traditional separate-chassis grand touring saloons from Crewe. Visually, the model was distinguished by a revised front-end styling featuring quad headlamps, a slightly lower bonnet line, and smaller bumper overriders. The 6.2-litre L-Series V8 engine was upgraded with larger 2-inch SU HD8 carburetors, revised ignition timing, and an increased compression ratio, delivering roughly seven percent more horsepower and superior high-speed cruising ability. Inside, the cabin was refreshed with individual front bucket seats, modified rear seating, and a redesigned climate system. The model range included standard saloons, long-wheelbase editions, and the celebrated S3 Continental coachbuilt derivatives styled by Mulliner Park Ward, including the iconic slanted-headlamp Chinese Eye variants. Production concluded in 1965 when the unibody T-Series was launched.
