About this generation

The second-generation Audi Q7 (4M) introduced dramatic weight reduction of 325 kg, all-wheel steering, and electrified powertrains.

Debuting at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, the second-generation Audi Q7 (4M) inaugurated the MLB Evo architecture. Strategic utilization of hot-stamped steel and aluminum shaved up to 325 kg off its predecessor's weight, vastly improving dynamic agility and efficiency. The body adopted sharper, more structured design lines centered around a hexagonal Singleframe grille.

The 4M introduced all-wheel steering, HD Matrix LED headlights with laser spot lamps, and dual-touchscreen MMI touch response infotainment. Powertrains feature MHEV-assisted 2.0 TFSI, 3.0 TFSI V6, and 3.0 TDI V6 engines, alongside TFSI e plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variants. Comprehensive updates in 2019 and 2024 have maintained the Q7's market leadership.
