Launched in early 2011, the fourth-generation Audi A6 (C7) shared its MLP platform with the A7 Sportback. Featuring an aluminum-hybrid body structure where aluminum comprised roughly 20 percent of the shell, weight was reduced by up to 15 percent compared to C6. The sharp exterior design stood out with crisp character lines and full-LED front headlamps.

Engine choices spanned 2.0 TFSI, 2.8 FSI, 3.0 TFSI V6 petrols, and 2.0 TDI / 3.0 TDI V6 diesels, including a bi-turbo 326 hp diesel variant. An A6 Hybrid model also joined the lineup. Innovations included MMI touch handwriting input, head-up display, night vision assistance, and Bang & Olufsen audio system, setting high standards for executive cars. The model fully reflected the premium status of the automaker and its commitment to technological leadership in its class.
