Flying Open Doors made Ford to recall 390K Cars

Ford has stated that a new recall concerns almost 390,000 cars.

The problem is door latches. They may not close in a proper way. This will lead to an unexpected opening of the doors during the process of driving. The 2013-14 Lincoln MKZ, 2013-14 Ford Fusion and 2012-14 Ford Fiesta are among the vehicles with the issue under consideration. It is known that all the affected vehicles were produced in Mexico.

The automaker assures that it is aware of only two minor injuries which happened in the result of the problem. Meanwhile, the producer received 69 complaints asserting that the door opened during driving. One owner filed a complaint with NHTSA saying that the doors “came flying open” during a turn.

The door latches on all doors will be replaced at Ford dealerships in order to get rid of the problem.
