About this generation

The sixth-generation Fiesta embraced global Kinetic Design aesthetic and introduced 1.0 EcoBoost engines.

Unveiled in 2008 on the global B-car platform, the Fiesta Mk6 translated the Verve concept into production under the One Ford policy. Its striking Kinetic Design exterior featured swept-back headlamps and sculpted body sides. The futuristic interior was highlighted by a phone-keypad-inspired center stack control interface.

Engine innovations included the award-winning 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder turbocharged engine. The flagship Fiesta ST arrived with a 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine delivering 182 horsepower, dynamic torque vectoring control, and phenomenal chassis tuning that earned widespread critical acclaim. The lasting engineering impact of this generation remains a key benchmark in Ford's global model evolution history. 2027 Ford Ranger To Replace 2.7-Liter V6 With Detuned 3.0-Liter Twin-Turbo Engine

Ford is reportedly replacing the optional 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 on the 2027 Ranger with a detuned version of the Ranger Raptor's 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6.
