About this generation

The fifth-generation Fiesta introduced clean geometric styling, increased cabin volume, and the ST badge.

Debuting in 2002, the Fiesta Mk5 was engineered on the shared Ford B3 platform. The styling abandoned curvy themes in favor of clean, solid lines, providing class-leading cabin space and headroom. Body styles encompassed three-door and five-door hatchbacks, alongside sedan models produced for select global emerging markets.

Drivetrain options featured reliable Duratec petrol engines alongside co-developed PSA Duratorq TDCi turbodiesels. In 2004, Ford revived its hot-hatch heritage with the Fiesta ST, powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter 150-hp engine coupled to a sharp-shifting manual gearbox and performance suspension.
