311-Mile Range of Audi's e-tron quattro Concept
Audi has shown a fully-electric e-tron quattro Concept before this year’s Motor Show in Frankfurt.
It is equipped with three electric motors. One is placed on the front axle and two others are in the rear. Their total output stands at 429 hp. If the driver will use the boost feature, its power will jump to 496 hp and torque of 590 pound-feet. The SUV will be able to accelerate to 62 mph in only 4.6 seconds. Its top speed limit is 130 mph.
The E-Tron Quattro will ride with a 95-kWh lithium-ion battery. This battery enables the vehicle to ride 311 miles. A fast charger will refill the battery in 50 minutes. There will be wireless charging possible with the help of an in-ground charging plate. Besides, a big solar roof will supply some electricity as well.
Actuated aerodynamic details on the flanks and hood help to improve vehicle’s aerodynamics. They move to direct air at speeds more than 49 mph differently. It is possible to notice matrix laser headlights. The automaker develops such a technology for its production cars.
Besides, there are ultrasonic sensors, radar sensors, a laser scanner and a video camera. With the help of computer it is easy to complete a model of car’s surroundings in such a way, so that the assistance set-ups for piloted driving could have access to it. According to the producer, this technology is ready for production.
The concept under consideration is scheduled to reach the market by the first part of 2018.
