Introducing the Ford Bronco RTR: Enhanced Style Meets High-Speed Desert Performance

  • The Bronco RTR delivers improved high-speed off-road capabilities at a competitive price point.
  • Optional Sasquatch Package upgrades include larger tires and advanced suspension.
  • For the first time, HOSS 3.0 suspension is available beyond the Badlands trim.

Ford is adding a new member to the Bronco family with the 2027 Bronco RTR, designed to offer desert-running performance akin to the Raptor, combined with a fresh, stylish appearance and an appealing starting price.

RTR, led by Vaughn Gittin Jr., has been enhancing Ford Mustangs and Broncos for years, proving the success of their approach. Now, Ford is bringing RTR’s expertise further into the fold with a factory-built RTR Bronco, which is a natural progression in this collaboration.

Design and Features

The Bronco RTR comes standard with 33-inch tires and a high-clearance suspension that provides a slight lift. Distinctive Hyper Lime accents, an RTR-exclusive grille, and signature lighting set the model apart visually. The vehicle rides on RTR’s Evo 6 wheels, which feature beadlock capability for serious off-road use.

Drawing from desert racing experience, Ford and RTR have enhanced the turbocharger’s performance with off-road optimized anti-lag technology, maintaining boost pressure for consistent throttle response. Additionally, the Bronco RTR borrows the cooling fan from the Bronco Raptor to help manage temperatures during extended high-speed runs in hot conditions.

Upgrades and Availability

For those seeking more capability, the Sasquatch package offers 35-inch tires and upgrades the suspension to the HOSS 3.0 system, complete with Fox shocks—a setup previously exclusive to Badlands models. This makes advanced off-road performance more accessible throughout the Bronco range.

Importantly, Ford positions the Bronco RTR as a value proposition, offering Raptor-inspired performance for a price lower than the Badlands Sasquatch, according to Bronco brand manager Haley Skiko.

The Bronco RTR will make its official debut at the 2026 Detroit Auto Show. Enthusiasts can also catch it in action at the King of the Hammers race in Johnson Valley next February. Pre-orders begin in October, with deliveries slated for January 2027.

The Bronco RTR adds a rugged yet stylish option to the lineup, delivering near-Raptor performance without the premium price tag. It’s a compelling choice for those wanting serious off-road speed combined with unique design.
