About this generation

The sixth-generation Ford Bronco, launched in 2021, revived the iconic body-on-frame off-roader with retro styling, removable doors and roof, and modern EcoBoost turbocharged engines.

The sixth-generation Ford Bronco (chassis code U725) entered production in early 2021 after a 25-year hiatus. Constructed on an updated iteration of Ford's T6 body-on-frame platform shared with the global Ranger pickup, it combines heavy-duty off-road capability with iconic retro styling inspired by the 1966 original. For the first time in Bronco history, Ford offered both a traditional two-door short-wheelbase SUV and a versatile four-door model. Standout design features include frameless removable doors that can be stowed inside the vehicle, modular quick-release roof panels, and high ground clearance.

Powertrain options consist exclusively of turbocharged EcoBoost gasoline engines: a 2.3-liter inline-four (274-304 hp), a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V6 (314-335 hp), and a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 reserved for the high-performance Bronco Raptor producing 418 horsepower. Transmission choices include a unique 7-speed manual with an ultra-low crawler gear and a 10-speed automatic. All variants come equipped with 4x4 capability, G.O.A.T. terrain management modes, front/rear electronic locking differentials, HOSS suspension with Bilstein or Fox shocks, and the Sasquatch off-road package featuring 35-inch tires.
