Adherence to W12: British Style

With popularity of W12 falling, Bentley wants to remain the last one standing.

The global race for meeting ever increasing emission regulations does not seem to touch Bentley. For some years now the British brand has been successfully implementing its W12 approach in engines and gladly supplying the competitors with it, and it does not plan to stop. Moreover, soon we may see a new GDI twin-turbo twelve-cylinder with the displacement of 6.0 litres.

Two outgoing Bentley models use the abovementioned propulsion without direct injection, and another SUV with it is planned to be released. Thus, in the nearest future almost 9,000 units will come out of the assembly lines with installed 12-cylinders. The latest Audi, even though in more modest quantities, also happily rides with such power under the hood.

Tendency of the kind can be traced in Mercedes-Benz too, with its S65 AMG Coupe. In the same way as Bentley, this brand would like to continue with 12-cylinder engines, especially on the most expensive offerings.
