Volvo XC70 IV (SMA) photos

The Volvo XC70 name returned in 2025 on a mid-size plug-in hybrid SUV. Unlike the earlier raised estates, the new vehicle has a dedicated SUV body and uses the SMA, or Scalable Modular Architecture, platform. China was its initial market, with other markets considered separately. Its powertrain combines a combustion engine and an electric drive system, while the traction battery can be recharged from an external supply. Electric range varies with the version and the test procedure used. The exterior includes a shield-like front panel, separate daytime running lamps and main headlamps, and vertical rear lighting. This model should be distinguished from the earlier P2 and P3 estates: it represents a new use of the XC70 name, rather than a facelift of those cars.
