About this generation
Second generation of the Volvo V70 mid-size luxury estate built on the P2 platform from 2000 to 2007.
The second-generation Volvo V70 debuted in early 2000 on Volvo's P2 platform, developed alongside the S60 and S80. Produced as a 5-door wagon, it featured Peter Horbury's signature shoulder design and exceptional cargo space ergonomics.
Engines included 5-cylinder petrol 2.4, 2.4T, 2.5T, and T5 units alongside 2.5 TDI and Volvo 2.4 D5 diesels. The high-performance V70 R produced 300 hp with Haldex AWD and Four-C active suspension. A 2004 facelift updated bumper trims, headlights, and center console controls.
