Body options were a four-door sedan and the SportWagen estate.

Engines included 1.6 MPI, 2.0 FSI, a 2.5-liter five-cylinder (170 hp for North America), 1.4/2.0 TSI turbo engines (GLI model), and 1.9/2.0 TDI diesels paired with manual, automatic, or 6/7-speed DSG transmissions.
