Volkswagen Golf VIII (Mk8) gallery (2019–present)

The eighth-generation Golf digitized the interior with Innovision Cockpit, eTSI mild-hybrid tech, and IQ.Light LED matrix headlights.

The Volkswagen Golf VIII (CD1) made its debut in Wolfsburg in October 2019. Constructed on the updated MQB Evo platform, the Mk8 brought a digital revolution to the classic compact dashboard. Physical dials were superseded by capacitive sliders and touch displays integrated under the Innovision Cockpit layout. Comprehensive driver assistance and vehicle-to-everything (Car2X) communication came standard across higher trim lines.

Powertrain options consist of 48-volt eTSI mild hybrids, eHybrid and GTE plug-in hybrid variants, 2.0 TDI diesels with Twin Dosing SCR technology, and performance GTI (245 hp), GTI Clubsport (300 hp), and 320 hp Golf R 4Motion. A comprehensive mid-cycle refresh in early 2024 (Mk8.5) introduced an upgraded infotainment suite with integrated AI assistance and illuminated exterior badging.
