All-New Volkswagen ID. Aura T6 Electric SUV Revealed
The FAW-Volkswagen joint venture has opened pre-orders for the new Volkswagen ID. Aura T6 mid-size electric crossover in the Chinese market. The price of the base trim of the new model is 136,000 yuan (about 1.7 million rubles at the current exchange rate), which is comparable to the price of the Lada Niva Travel SUV in Russia.
The vehicle, measuring 4,811 mm in length, is built on the new CEA modular architecture created in collaboration with Xpeng. The crossover's body features refined aerodynamics: the drag coefficient is just 0.245 Cd. The model is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor with an output of 170 kW (228 hp), which provides acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds. Buyers are offered two versions of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) traction batteries with capacities of 59.9 and 77.5 kWh, providing a single-charge range of 540 to 660 kilometers on the CLTC cycle.
The interior of the crossover is designed in a minimalist style. At the disposal of the driver and passengers are a 15.6-inch floating central touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and an augmented reality head-up display with a diagonal of 25.8 inches. The infotainment system is based on a 4-nanometer chip with a computing performance of 20 TOPS and supports wireless Apple CarPlay, Huawei HiCar, and Carlink interfaces.
The capacity of the main trunk is 576 liters, increasing to 1,796 liters with the rear seatbacks folded; an additional 90-liter front luggage compartment is also provided. The equipment list includes an Aura Sound audio system with 18 speakers, as well as front seats with ventilation, heating, and massage. The suite of autonomous driving systems uses lidar and a Horizon Robotics Journey 6H processor with a computing performance of 420 TOPS, supporting highway autopilot functions (Highway NOA) and urban assistants.
