Volkswagen Crafter II (SY) gallery (2016–present)

The second-generation Volkswagen Crafter (SY) has been produced since 2016, engineered entirely in-house by Volkswagen.

The second-generation Volkswagen Crafter with body code SY/SZ was launched in late 2016. Moving away from the joint venture with Daimler, this iteration was designed entirely in-house by Volkswagen and manufactured at a custom facility in Września, Poland. The SY Crafter achieved a class-leading drag coefficient of 0.33 and incorporated electro-mechanical steering, enabling features like Side Wind Assist and Lane Keep Assist.

Power comes from a range of 2.0-liter TDI four-cylinder turbodiesel engines delivering between 102 hp and 177 hp. Uniquely, the second-generation Crafter offers front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, and 4Motion all-wheel drive configurations. Transmissions include a six-speed manual or an eight-speed torque-converter automatic. A fully electric e-Crafter model joined the lineup in 2018 for urban zero-emission logistics.
