Vauxhall Astra VIII (L) gallery (2021–present)

Revealed in July 2021 and entering production for the 2022 model year, the eighth-generation Vauxhall Astra (Mark 8 / Astra L) is the first Astra developed entirely under the Stellantis group on the modular EMP2 V3 platform, shared with the Peugeot 308 and DS 4. Visually, the Mk8 embraces Vauxhall's bold design language, highlighted by the dark Vauxhall Vizor front grille integrating IntelliLux LED Pixel headlights with 168 individual LED elements. The cabin introduces the fully digital Pure Panel cockpit integrating twin 10-inch glass displays with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Body styles are offered as a five-door hatchback and a versatile Sports Tourer estate. Demonstrating a multi-energy architecture, the lineup comprises 1.2-litre PureTech three-cylinder turbo petrols, a 1.5-litre BlueHDi four-cylinder diesel, 48V mild-hybrid petrols, and Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) variants producing 180 PS and 225 PS in the performance-oriented Astra GSe. In 2023, the all-electric Astra Electric joined the range, featuring a 156 PS front electric motor, a 54 kWh battery pack, and an electric driving range of over 250 miles (400+ km) on the WLTP cycle. Transmission options include 6-speed manuals, a 6-speed dual-clutch e-DCS6 for mild hybrids, and an 8-speed automatic (EAT8). Production is centered at the Rüsselsheim plant in Germany.
