Toyota Mirai II (JPD20) gallery (2020–present)

The second-generation Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell sedan, designated JPD20, went into production in late 2020. Shifting from front-wheel drive to the full-size rear-wheel-drive TNGA-L (GA-L) architecture shared with the Lexus LS, the JPD20 transformed into an elegant, premium executive sedan. The longer wheelbase and wider stance allowed for a spacious five-passenger cabin fitted with synthetic leather trim, a 12.3-inch infotainment display, and a digital instrument cluster.

The engineering layout incorporated three high-pressure carbon-fiber hydrogen tanks storing a total of 5.6 kg of hydrogen. The updated fuel cell stack was made smaller and lighter while output increased to 128 kW (174 hp), driving a rear-mounted electric motor producing 182 hp. Total driving range expanded to between 650 and 850 kilometers. In 2021, Toyota introduced the Advanced Drive autonomous driving system on the Mirai, offering level 2 hands-off driving capability on highways in Japan and the US.
