Third generation Toyota Estima MPV (XR50 series) exhibiting sharp floating-roof styling, executive Ottoman seating, and Estima Hybrid technology.

The third generation Toyota Estima MPV (XR50 series) launched in Japan in January 2006. The design showcased an expressive silhouette accented by blacked-out roof pillars creating a 'floating roof' visual effect alongside sharp headlamp projectors. The premium interior accommodated seven or eight passengers, featuring second-row executive Ottoman recliners with pop-out leg rests and a power-stowable third-row seat.

Engine offerings comprised a 2.4-liter 2AZ-FE four-cylinder (170 hp) with a Super CVT-i and a potent 3.5-liter 2GR-FE V6 delivering 280 horsepower mated to a six-speed automatic. The popular Estima Hybrid utilized Toyota Hybrid System II with a 2.4-liter 2AZ-FXE engine and E-Four electric all-wheel drive (190 total system hp). Over its extended production run, facelifts in 2009, 2012, and 2016 introduced bi-tone exterior paint options, LED lighting, and Toyota Safety Sense C. Production finished in October 2019.
