The second-generation Suzuki Cultus family (EA/MA) was produced from 1988 to 2003.
Debuting in September 1988, the second-generation Suzuki Cultus (EA/MA series) introduced fluid aerodynamic body contours, independent four-wheel suspension, and expanded body styles including hatchbacks, the Cultus Esteem notchback sedan, and a 2-door convertible. The model was rebadged internationally as the Swift, Geo Metro, and Pontiac Firefly.
Engine offerings ranged from a 1.0-liter three-cylinder to 1.3-liter SOHC and DOHC 16-valve four-cylinders (101 hp GTi model), with optional four-wheel drive. Production in Japan ran through the late 1990s, with overseas production continuing until 2003.
