Subaru Stella II (LA100/LA110) gallery (2011–2014)
The second generation Stella was an OEM supply model based on the fifth-generation Daihatsu Move.
Produced from May 2011 to December 2014, the second-generation Subaru Stella (LA100/LA110 code) launched as a rebadged twin of the fifth-generation Daihatsu Move. Power came from 660 cc 3-cylinder KF engines in naturally aspirated (52 hp) and turbocharged (64 hp Custom) forms mated to CVTs with FWD or 4WD. The MacPherson strut front suspension setup paired with the refined rear suspension layout struck an optimal balance between highway composure and smooth absorption of road surface imperfections. The engineering setup effectively combined the low center of gravity inherent to the horizontally-opposed engine layout with a rigid chassis frame, delivering precise handling and composure across dry pavement and slippery surfaces alike. Engine bay packaging ensured optimal front-to-rear axle weight distribution alongside efficient thermal cooling under sustained driving loads.
A 2012 facelift introduced updated LED front lighting and premiered the Smart Assist active braking safety system. Production ended in late 2014. Inside, the cabin showcased durable trim materials, clear instrument cluster graphics, and intuitive control ergonomics that earned praise from automotive reviewers globally. Designers placed a strong emphasis on cabin ergonomics, occupant visibility, and long-distance driving comfort.
