About this generation

First generation of the Porsche Mission S hypercar featuring an innovative flat-eight engine, PDK transmission, and an electrified powertrain.

The first generation of the Porsche Mission S marks the automaker's return to the hypercar segment, succeeding celebrated predecessors such as the Carrera GT and 918 Spyder. The car is constructed around a dedicated mid-engine platform designed to underpin future ultra-high-performance vehicles. The lightweight two-door coupe body utilizes advanced composites, carbon fiber, and sophisticated active aerodynamic elements.

The mechanical package is highlighted by an innovative twin-turbocharged flat-eight engine capable of revving to an 8,000-rpm redline. Mated to a quick-shifting PDK dual-clutch transmission, the high-revving combustion unit is complemented by an electrified hybrid system derived from the company's endurance racing and performance hybrid programs. This represents Stuttgart's first production boxer-eight powerplant.

Inside, the cabin introduces dynamic motorized extending and retracting instrument cluster displays. Compared to the previous 918 Spyder, the Mission S replaces the atmospheric V8 with a bespoke twin-turbo boxer-eight, features next-generation hybrid tech, and benefits from a stiffer, more modular carbon chassis.
