The third generation Pontiac Grand Am was produced from 1985 to 1991, marking the model's transition to the new compact front-wheel drive GM N-body platform shared with Buick Skylark and Oldsmobile Achieva. The body lineup included a coupe and a sedan, while the engine range consisted of four-cylinder engines, turbocharged units, and 3.0-liter V6 engines working with manual and automatic transmissions. The car featured a sharp wedge-shaped silhouette, concealed windshield wipers, and plastic body cladding emphasizing its sporty character.
