3About this generation
Launched in 2020 on the CMF-B platform, the third-generation Nissan Note (E13) became an exclusively e-Power series-hybrid hatchback tailored primarily for the Japanese domestic market.
Unveiled in late 2020, the third-generation Nissan Note (codenamed E13) marked a decisive technological shift by dropping conventional internal-combustion-only powertrains and focusing entirely on electrified propulsion. Underpinned by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance CMF-B platform, the five-door hatchback gained a stiffer body structure, refined suspension geometry, enhanced cabin acoustic insulation, and advanced ProPILOT driver-assistance systems with navigation-linked speed control. Compared to the outgoing E12, the E13 adopted slightly more compact exterior dimensions and a shorter wheelbase while adopts Nissan's Timeless Japanese Futurism styling language and a modernized cabin featuring dual digital displays and a floating center console with an electronic shift-by-wire selector. Every E13 Note utilizes the second-generation e-Power series-hybrid system, pairing a 1.2-liter three-cylinder HR12DE engine acting purely as an onboard generator with a redesigned, higher-torque front electric traction motor and a single-speed reduction gear. An all-wheel-drive configuration is also offered, incorporating a powerful independent rear electric motor for genuine four-wheel torque control on slippery surfaces. The lineup expanded to include the wider, more upscale Note Aura and the raised Autech Crossover variant. A facelift introduced in late 2023 brought a body-colored Digital V-Motion grille and updated interior trim. Unlike its global predecessors, the E13 generation has been marketed mainly in Japan.
