First generation of the all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQG off-roader (G 580 with EQ Technology, N465), launched in 2024 with quad-motor electric drive.
The production all-electric G-Class, designated as Mercedes-Benz EQG and marketed as the G 580 with EQ Technology (chassis code N465), debuted in April 2024. Building on the legendary G-Class heritage, it retains the traditional ladder-frame chassis and boxy silhouette while introducing a cutting-edge quad-motor electric powertrain with individual wheel control.
The system produces a combined output of 587 hp (432 kW) and 1,164 Nm of torque, paired with individual two-speed low-range gear reduction for extreme off-road performance, including 360-degree tank turns (G-Turn). A 116 kWh battery integrated into the frame features carbon-kevlar underbody protection and delivers a WLTP range of up to 473 km.
