The third-generation Mercedes-Benz B-Class (W247) premiered at the Paris Motor Show in October 2018. Underpinned by the evolved MFA2 platform architecture, the W247 gained a longer 2,729 mm wheelbase, a sleeker roofline, and optimized aerodynamics resulting in a drag coefficient of just 0.24. Inside, the cabin established new digital benchmarks for compact luxury tourers, featuring a free-standing widescreen display panel housing the MBUX multimedia system equipped with natural voice control, augmented-reality navigation, and artificial intelligence learning capabilities.
Engine offerings center on 1.3-liter (M282) and 2.0-liter (M260) turbocharged gasoline engines alongside transversally installed 2.0-liter OM654q diesels meeting Euro 6d emission regulations. The lineup is complemented by a plug-in hybrid variant, the B 250 e, combining an electric motor with a 15.6 kWh battery pack for up to 70 kilometers of zero-emission driving. Power is routed through seven-speed or eight-speed dual-clutch automatics, with optional 4MATIC variable all-wheel drive. A late 2022 facelift refreshed lighting signatures, simplified options packages, and added 48-volt mild-hybrid electrification.
