The fifth-generation Hyundai Tucson was officially revealed for the 2027 model year, introducing a radical aesthetic shift compared to the fourth generation (NX4). The crossover traded its sleek curves for a bolder, boxier design characterized by flared fenders, sharp hood lines, and a full-width front LED light bar. Offered as a five-door compact SUV, it also features an adventurous XRT trim with forged-carbon-textured cladding and integrated liftgate camping lights. The vehicle has grown significantly, measuring 4,700 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,685 mm in height, with a 2,785 mm wheelbase that notably increases rear passenger legroom, headroom, and cargo capacity. Powertrain offerings are headlined by a revised hybrid setup based on a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 242 hp and 380 Nm of torque, accelerating to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds. A conventional 1.6-liter turbo ICE engine provides roughly 177 hp and 217 Nm of torque, while plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and diesel variants are planned for select markets. Inside, the Tucson features an avant-garde cabin with an ellipse-shaped steering wheel, a large touchscreen powered by the Android Automotive-based Hyundai Pleos Connect infotainment system, dual wireless smartphone chargers, and practical storage solutions. The model launches first in South Korea in the fourth quarter of 2026, followed by a worldwide rollout across North American and international markets in 2027.
