The Hyundai Ioniq 5 (NE) electric crossover entered production in 2021, featuring 800V E-GMP platform architecture and Parametric Pixel styling.
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 (NE platform) premiered virtually in February 2021 as the debut model of the dedicated IONIQ EV lineup. Drawing aesthetic inspiration from the 1975 Hyundai Pony hatchback, the Ioniq 5 introduced Parametric Pixel lighting themes. Built on the dedicated E-GMP electric platform, it boasts a 3,000 mm wheelbase and a flat interior floor.
The 800V charging system enables ultra-fast DC charging from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes, complemented by Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) bidirectional power supply capability. Available in single-motor RWD and dual-motor AWD layouts (up to 650 hp in the Ioniq 5 N), battery capacities range from 58 to 84 kWh. A 2024 update added a rear window wiper and expanded battery sizing.
