The eighth-generation Honda Accord (CU/CW) arrived in 2008, featuring enlarged exterior dimensions, wide fender flares, and a premium cabin environment. The international platform was marketed as a sedan and Tourer wagon, while the North American model was built on a wider footprint in sedan and coupe configurations.

Engine choices included 2.0-liter (156 hp) and 2.4-liter (201 hp) i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol engines, plus a 2.2-liter i-DTEC turbodiesel producing 150 to 180 hp. North American markets featured a 3.5-liter V6 i-VTEC (271 hp) with Variable Cylinder Management (VCM). A 2011 mid-cycle update delivered styling refinements, bi-xenon adaptive headlights, and enhanced sound isolation.
