Holden Barina IV (XC) gallery (2001–2005)

The fourth-generation Holden Barina, carrying the XC chassis code, was sold from 2001 to 2005 as a rebadged version of the Opel Corsa C built upon the GM Gamma platform. Imported from Europe for Australia and New Zealand, the XC generation was sold as a three-door and five-door hatchback, boasting significantly higher torsional rigidity, sharper driving dynamics, and a class-leading four-star safety rating. The vehicle was equipped with sophisticated Opel Ecotec petrol engines, starting with a 1.4-liter four-cylinder making 90 horsepower, while the sporty SRi variant packed a larger 1.8-liter DOHC engine rated at 125 horsepower. Transmissions included a slick five-speed manual and an electronically controlled four-speed automatic. A facelift in 2004 updated the front grille mesh, projector-style headlamps, rear bumper profiles, and cabin trims before Holden switched its sourcing partner for small cars.
