Holden Barina II (MF) gallery (1989–1994)

The second-generation Holden Barina, sold across the MF and MH model series from 1989 to 1994, was engineered on the second-generation Suzuki Cultus architecture. It featured an entirely new, aerodynamically refined body with soft, rounded contours, available primarily as three-door and five-door hatchbacks, alongside a four-door sedan configuration in select regional markets. Under the bonnet was an updated 1.3-liter Suzuki G13BA inline-four engine equipped with electronic throttle-body fuel injection, producing 66 horsepower and paired with a five-speed manual gearbox or an optional three-speed automatic. In 1991, the MH series update introduced revised aerodynamic bumpers, a refreshed cabin layout, improved sound insulation, revised damper valving, and the sporty GS trim grade. The second-generation model was sold in Australia and New Zealand, winning several consumer awards for reliability and running cost efficiency.
