GMC Jimmy IV gallery (1994–2005)

The second generation of the mid-size GMC Jimmy was introduced in 1994 for the 1995 model year on an extensively updated GMT330 body-on-frame platform. Featuring rounded, aerodynamic styling, the new Jimmy offered substantially improved passenger comfort, superior interior ergonomics, dual front airbags, and reduced noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels. It was available in both 2-door and 4-door bodystyles with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. The standard and most prevalent engine was the 4.3L Vortec 4300 V6, generating 190 to 195 horsepower and paired with either a 5-speed manual or the reliable 4-speed 4L60-E automatic transmission. Advanced drivetrains included the AutoTrac full-time all-wheel-drive transfer case. A mid-cycle refresh in 1998 updated the front fascia and dashboard, introducing the premium Jimmy Envoy trim level with high-end leather, wood accents, and rear air suspension. In North America, the 4-door Jimmy was phased out after 2001 to make way for the standalone GMT360-based Envoy, while 2-door retail and fleet versions continued through the 2005 model year.
