The first generation of the Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 debuted in 2026, initiating a new lineage of full-size off-road vehicles for Geely's Galaxy brand. The vehicle is engineered on the Geely Terrain Architecture (GTA), integrating an internal ladder frame into the monocoque structure to provide high rigidity under extreme torsional loads. Built exclusively in a five-door SUV body configuration, the generation features an upright, boxy exterior design, 300 mm of ground clearance, and an 800 mm wading depth.

The generation serves as the premiere vehicle for the 3DHT200 hybrid drive platform developed by Horse Powertrain, a joint venture between Geely and Renault. The setup pairs a turbocharged gasoline combustion engine with a three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (3DHT), a 148-hp starter-generator, a 308-hp front traction motor spinning at up to 20,000 rpm, and a dedicated electric drive unit on the rear axle. Delivering a total output of 1,113 hp (830 kW) and 4,920 Nm of wheel torque, the SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately three seconds and can ascend 45-degree inclines.

The vehicle automatically alternates between electric-only, series hybrid, and parallel hybrid drive modes, resulting in a low fuel consumption figure of roughly 5.0 liters per 100 km. As a brand-new model without an existing precursor in the Geely Galaxy catalog, the first generation of the Cruiser 700 defines a new tier of extreme off-road performance for the manufacturer.
