Ford Capri III gallery (1978–1986)

The third-generation Ford Capri (internally designated Project EC26 or Mark III) was launched in March 1978. Featuring a distinctive drooping hood line over quad round headlamps and a black slatted grille, the Mark III adopted a much more aggressive, aerodynamic front profile. Production was centralized at Ford's Cologne plant in Germany, supplying European markets.

Engine variants ranged from economical 1.3L and 1.6L units to potent 2.3L, 2.8L, and 3.0L V6 powerplants. Highlight models included the Capri 2.8 Injection equipped with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection (160 hp) and five-speed transmission, as well as the exclusive final Capri 280 'Brooklands' edition. Assembly concluded in December 1986, marking the end of the classic rear-wheel-drive Capri legacy.
