The second generation Cadillac SRX debuted in 2009 constructed on the front-wheel-drive Theta Premium platform. Shifting to a dedicated five-passenger configuration with compact dimensions, it adopted sharp exterior character lines highlighted by chrome fender vents and iconic vertical LED tailfin lamps. The available e-AWD system featured an active electronic limited-slip rear differential (eLSD). A 2013 mid-cycle update added Cadillac CUE touchscreen infotainment and active driver assistance safety tech.
