Cadillac Series 60 III (60 Special) gallery (1942–1947)

The third-generation Series 60 Special was produced during 1942 and following postwar assembly resumption for 1946–1947. Built on an extended 133-inch wheelbase GM C-body platform, it was officially designated as the Fleetwood Sixty Special. Exterior styling adopted long sweeping pontoon fenders, a massive horizontal front grille, and an expansive four-door sedan body structure. The cabin offered top-tier luxury with fine wool broadcloth upholstery and genuine wood interior trim accents.

Powering the postwar Sixty Special was the 346 cubic-inch (5.7-liter) Monobloc V8 rated at 150 horsepower. The engine was paired with either a 4-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission or a 3-speed manual gearbox. Standard appointments included hydraulic power windows, plush coil-spring seat cushions, dual-servo drum brakes, and an electric dashboard clock.
