Buick GL8 II gallery (2010–2017)

The second-generation Buick GL8 was introduced in late 2010 under the name GL8 Luxury MPV, translating the design language of the 2009 Buick Business Concept into a production executive vehicle. Built on the heavily updated SGM258 architecture, this generation offered significantly higher structural rigidity, refined suspension tuning, and advanced active and passive safety systems compared to the original model. Its exterior was distinguished by Buick's signature waterfall chrome grille, sculpted bodyside character lines with the iconic sweep spear motif, and modern xenon lighting. The powertrain portfolio saw major modernizations, introducing a 2.4-liter Ecotec inline-four engine producing 186 horsepower alongside an advanced 3.0-liter direct-injected SIDI V6 engine rated at 258 horsepower. Power was transmitted exclusively to the front wheels via a smooth-shifting six-speed automatic transmission (Hydra-Matic 6T70), replacing the aged four-speed unit. The interior offered executive-class luxury, including second-row captain's chairs with heating, ventilation, and power footrests. Manufactured exclusively in China, this generation served executive and luxury travel markets until 2017.
