The third generation transitioned to the lightweight MSB architecture featuring dual-clutch transmission and advanced 48-volt active roll control.
Unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show for the 2018 model year, the third-generation Bentley Continental GT represented a ground-up revolution. Built upon the lightweight modular MSB platform co-developed with Porsche, the vehicle moved its front axle further forward, dramatically improving proportions and weight distribution for both the coupe and convertible bodystyles. Powerplants included a heavily revised 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 producing 635 to 659 horsepower and a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 delivering 550 horsepower. Both were paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and an active on-demand all-wheel-drive system. Dynamic capabilities reached new heights thanks to three-chamber air suspension, 48-volt active anti-roll bars, rear-wheel steering, and an electronic limited-slip rear differential on Speed variants. Inside, the cabin showcased benchmark craftsmanship highlighted by the iconic Bentley Rotating Display, offering unmatched luxury and performance across key markets globally.
