Bentley Azure I gallery (1995–2003)

The first-generation Bentley Azure debuted at the 1995 Geneva Motor Show as an ultra-luxury four-seater grand touring convertible. Based on the mechanical platform of the Continental R coupe, the Azure featured a bespoke power-operated soft top and reinforced chassis developed and initially assembled by Pininfarina in Italy, before the shells were shipped to the factory in Crewe for final mechanical assembly and bespoke trim. Power came from the legendary 6.75-litre turbocharged L-Series V8 engine, delivering around 385 to 400 hp in standard trim and up to 426 hp in the exclusive Azure Mulliner specification, linked to a heavy-duty 4-speed GM 4L80-E automatic transmission. The car offered effortless grand touring capability paired with exquisite handcrafted Connolly leather upholstery, polished wood veneers, and a hydraulic-electric roof mechanism. Throughout its production run until 2003, the Azure received subtle chassis revisions and equipment updates, serving as the benchmark open-top luxury automobile for wealthy clientele across the United States, Europe, and the Middle East.
