2016 Q50 from Infiniti benefits from 2.0L Turbo V4
The Infiniti Q50 will be present on the market as a new entry-level V4 offering for the next model year.
Infinity hopes to lower the price for its Q50, so it could rival with other entry-level high-end sedans. The automaker decided to offer its Q50 with a 2.0-litre turbocharged V4 engine. It will be placed before the current 3.7-litre six-cylinder model. Two more reasons for this are emissions and economy of fuel. We remind you that a six-cylinder is the only engine choice currently.
We hope that this offering will succeed, unlike the G25 of the previous generation which was supposed to be a more affordable G sedan. Unfortunately, the product was quickly axed. Despite all the details about the powerplant for the United States have not been revealed by the producer yet, it is easy to imagine that it will probably be the identical offering which is already present on the European and Chinese markets. The 2.0-litre motor was borrowed from Mercedes-Benz. It is able to generate 211 hp and torque of 236 lb-ft. Though, it is still possible that the American market will see a small boost in performance.
The Q30 is expected to ride with the same 2.0-litre powertrain. It is scheduled to reach the market towards the end of spring or beginning of summer next year.
The automaker has also stated that there will be some other modifications for the next year’s model range. It was confirmed that the Q60 will not be manufactured. Moreover, the latest 2017 Q60 will be on sale in 2016. Speaking about the 2016 Infiniti QX60, it was mentioned that information about it will emerge at the next year’s Auto Show in Detroit. After that the model will reach dealerships in spring of 2016.
