2026 Infiniti QX60 Sport: Emphasizing Style Over Substance

Despite financial challenges facing Nissan, Infiniti remains committed to its luxury line with the introduction of several refreshed models, led by the 2026 QX60.

However, budget limitations are apparent as the mid-cycle refresh doesn't match the thorough updates typically seen in this segment. The 2026 range introduces a Sport variant, which primarily offers aesthetic improvements rather than significant performance enhancements.

Engine and Performance Adjustments

The Sport model forgoes the return of the naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 that powered previous QX60 versions up to 2024. Instead, Infiniti continues with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine featuring variable compression, delivering 268 horsepower and 286 pound-feet of torque. This represents a slight decrease in horsepower but an increase in torque compared to the former V6. The Sport trim maintains a nine-speed automatic transmission, with all-wheel drive standard, while lower trims are equipped with front-wheel drive.

Distinctive Exterior Features

To set the Sport apart, Infiniti has incorporated a more aggressive grille design and added black accents to the body. Exclusive 20-inch wheels and a subtle “S” badge on the rear further distinguish this trim. Notably, the traditional rear Infiniti badge beneath the windshield has been removed from both the Sport and the premium Autograph trim, which now showcases an updated grille.

Styling Influences from the QX80

Styling tweaks inspired by the larger QX80 aim to bolster competition against rivals like the BMW X5. Updates include an illuminated front badge, additional LED segments in the daytime running lights, and lower-positioned red reflectors at the rear. The upper portion of the rear bumper is now body-colored, and redesigned side skirts complete the streamlined exterior.

Wheel and Paint Innovations

The base Pure trim now comes standard with 20-inch wheels, replacing the previous 18-inch versions. Higher trims, including Luxe and Autograph, feature newly designed 20-inch alloy wheels. The top-tier Autograph trim introduces a light curtain feature that projects Infiniti’s logo and geometric patterns onto the ground when the vehicle is unlocked. A new Deep Emerald paint option is available, and both the Sport and Autograph trims offer a two-tone color scheme with a black upper section.

Interior Enhancements

Interior modifications are minimal, with the addition of a Stone Gray upholstery option. The Sport trim features Dusk Blue leather seats, a black headliner, and black open-pore ash wood accents with metal inlays, shared with the Autograph. The Pure and Luxe trims continue to offer a silver metallic weave. The Sensory trim does not appear to be available for the 2026 model year.

Advanced Technology Features

The Autograph trim includes the optional ProPILOT Assist 2.1 driver assistance system, capable of managing acceleration, braking, and steering on selected highways. Starting with the Luxe trim, a surround-view camera system becomes standard. Additionally, the Luxe and Sport trims are equipped with a 16-speaker Klipsch audio system, while the Autograph trim can be upgraded to a 20-speaker setup for enhanced sound quality.

Availability and Pricing Information

The 2026 Infiniti QX60 is expected to reach dealerships this summer, featuring standard second-row captain’s chairs in the Sport and Autograph trims. In contrast, competitors like the Genesis GV80 will continue to offer a second-row bench seat accommodating seven passengers. Pricing details will be announced closer to the release date, but the previous model ranged from $50,200 for the Pure trim up to $66,150 for the Autograph, before additional options.

For those prioritizing style over rear-seat flexibility, a more dynamic QX65 variant is anticipated, likely commanding a higher price due to its coupe-inspired design.
